In the last 4 months, on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Independence and Mujib Centenary, a total of 887 (eight hundred and eighty-seven) members of BCS working in IT profession in cybersecurity, data center management, ethical hacking and project management have been given free virtual training by one of the leading ICT professionals in Bangladesh, Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS). The current executive committee of the organization also informed that such training activities will continue throughout the year to build the fourth industrial revolution i.e. information technology-dependent digital Bangladesh and to develop the professional qualifications and skills of IT professionals in different sectors of the country.
Following this, a virtual certificate distribution (virtual) ceremony was organized for the trainees on Friday. Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar gave certificates to 4 trainees on the occasion.
At this time, the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Bank. K. M. Aftab ul Islam and Chairman of the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority, M Mosharraf Hossain was joined in this event.
Bangladesh Computer Society President Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sharif Uddin presided over the ceremony while it is hosted by BCS Treasurer Muhammad Ziaul Islam.
At the beginning of the meeting, BCS General Secretary Abdur Rahman Khan gave an introductory speech. In his speech, he strongly demanded the Minister to establish ICT cadre in building digital infrastructure to build Bangabandhu's Sonar Bangla.
Also the vice-president of the organization (academic), Professor. Muhammad Nurul Huda read the training report.
Speaking as the chief guest, Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Mustafa Jabbar lauded the initiative of Bangladesh Computer Society to organize timely training. He laid special emphasis on building skilled manpower in the sector through training on cybersecurity.
The Minister also directed to organize suitable training for children and adolescents to further enrich their fear of basic knowledge of computer programming.
Post and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar also assured that work would be started from Sunday to strengthen the telecom cadre as well as establish an ICT cadre in response to the demands of the members of the organization.
At the special guest at the meeting. K. M. Aftab ul Islam highlighted the need to increase investment in the development of the ICT industry and said that the training initiative of BCS for IT professionals was timely and fruitful.
Another special guest said. In his speech, M Mosharraf Hossain highlighted the role of ICT sector in economic development as well as the importance of digitizing the country's insurance sector.
At the end of the guest speakers, the president said in his closing remarks, Mohammad Sharif Uddin sought the cooperation of all those present at the meeting to further strengthen the Bangladesh Computer Society to enrich Digital Bangladesh.
BCS Joint Secretary (Academic) Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan thanked everyone and announced the end of the program.
